Your application fee ($25) can be paid by cash or check on the day of your audition.

World-Class Youth Orchestra

Green Mountain Youth Symphony (GMYS) is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering a sense of unity among young musicians from central and northern Vermont and New Hampshire. Our mission transcends borders and cultures as we believe in the power of music to connect people, inspire creativity, and instill a sense of camaraderie among young artists. We celebrate the enthusiasm of our young musicians and guide them as they express their passion through the performance of great music.
Our Orchestra Programs
During our concert season, we are proud to host three different orchestras. Each one is designed to accommodate musicians at varying skill levels and provide them with a nurturing environment where they can explore and grow their musical talents.
Repertory orchestra: Designed for young beginners with a desire to learn. Here, the basics are the main focus as we explore the beauty of music together.
Concert orchestra: This orchestra is for intermediate players who want to enhance their musical skills and knowledge.
Senior orchestra: Our advanced orchestra is for seasoned young musicians ready to challenge themselves and perform complex orchestral music pieces.
Each orchestra offers a unique and rewarding experience, encouraging the young musicians to learn, grow, and enjoy their musical journey. In our orchestras, every young musician has a place - a seat that waits to be filled with passion, commitment, and a love for music.
