A 9-week series for 8-12 year olds who have never played a stringed instrument. This class is taught by GMYS Artistic Director & cellist, Bob Blais, in space donated by the Monteverdi Music School in downtown Montpelier.

 

Students can choose violin, viola, cello, or bass and learn in a mixed-instrument group.

 

Students who would like to continue with their instrument after this introductory period will be referred to private teachers through Monteverdi, can join their school music program, and will be able to work toward joining the GMYS Repertory Orchestra.

 

Classes run in the fall and again in the winter/spring semester.
