Youth and Teen Chamber Music

Green Mountain Youth Symphony (GMYS) is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering a sense of unity among young musicians from central and northern Vermont and New Hampshire. Our mission transcends borders and cultures as we believe in the power of music to connect people, inspire creativity, and instill a sense of camaraderie among young artists. We celebrate the enthusiasm of our young musicians and guide them as they express their passion through the performance of great music.

 

Chamber Music at GMYS

Chamber Music offers young musicians the opportunity to experience the rich and diverse history of classical music in the context of small ensembles. With weekly coachings throughout the Fall and Winter/Spring sessions, students build interpersonal connections while taking their musicianship to higher levels.

GMYS's Chamber Music program emphasizes skills such as leadership, collaboration, listening and goal setting all while studying with an expert chamber music coach. Students audition for Chamber Music so groups can be formed with attention to age and level. Works are thoughtfully selected for each group that will inspire and challenge each student. Every group will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the each session at GMYS.
